If there is one thing that alienates newcomers to the Kingdom Hearts franchise, it’s the story. This may just be a spit shine of groundbreaking games within the series but does this collection recapture the magic of this iconic JRPG? We find out in our review of the Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix. However, looking outside the series, the games have similarities to games like Final Fantasy, Crisis Core and Ni No Kuni to name a few. So obviously it plays like any title within the Kingdom Hearts series. Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix is a collection of all the best titles within the series.
So it was hardly surprising that ahead of the much anticipated sequel that was about twelve years in the making., Square Enix would release a game that will act as a collection of all their past works, readying the fan base for what was to come. Not to mention perhaps the most convoluted storyline in gaming history to boot. The series has went from strength to strength, from platform to platform and has managed to create one of the most unique JRPG games to ever grace the medium of gaming. Ever since the fateful day when a Square Enix developer bumped into a Disney executive in an elevator and inexplicably pitched the concept that would turn out to be Kingdom Hearts.
